Belmont: Multiple guaranteed pools in exotics for Friday, Saturday
ELMONT, N.Y. – There will be no shortage of wagering opportunities Friday and Saturday – Belmont Stakes Day – at Belmont Park, including multiple two-day daily-double bets.
There is a daily double linking Friday’s True North (race 8) with Saturday’s Metropolitan Handicap that will have a guaranteed pool of $150,000. Last year, the pool on that wager was $656,728.
Also, there is a daily double linking Friday’s Belmont Gold Cup (race 10) with Saturday’s Belmont Stakes that will have a guaranteed pool of $300,000. Last year, the handle on that wager was $650,442.
The New York Racing Association is guaranteeing Friday’s pick six pool at $150,000 and the late pick four pool at $300,000. Last year, the pick six on the day before the Belmont handled only $82,794. On Friday, the pick six begins on race 5 (2:56 p.m. Eastern), and the late pick four starts with race 7 (4 p.m.). The late pick four last year on the corresponding day handled $626,278.

On Saturday’s 13-race card, which begins at 11:35 a.m., there are four wagers that will have guaranteed pools. The early pick five, which starts in race 1, will be guaranteed at $500,000. Last year, the pick five handled $1,037,579.
There is a guaranteed pool of $250,000 for the pick three that begins on race 3. Last year, that pick three handled $354,967.
The pick six, which starts on race 6 (2:34 p.m.) and ends with the Belmont Stakes, will have a guaranteed pool of $1.5 million. Last year, the pick six handled $1,970,365.
The pick four that starts on race 8 (4 p.m.), comprised of the Just a Game, Metropolitan, Manhattan, and Belmont Stakes, will have a guaranteed pool of $1.5 million. Last year, that wager handled $3,779,258.
There are three pick fours on the card, starting in races 2, 8, and 10.
