Spot PlayCONFESSA (#5, 10-1) merits another chance off the debut try, where she was compromised at the start and then caught wide; faster pace helps the cause. -Kenny Peck

Spot PlaySHERIFFA (#7, 7-2) regressed in second start off the five month layoff going a route in the slop; may be set for career best. - Chuck Kuehhas PEARLS FOR GIRLS (#2, 4-1): Added Lasix second time back from an extended absence, and led maiden special-weight sprinters a merry chase first time over the main track; the $215,000 purchase steps to the next available condition, and has the look of a late bloomer.- Dave Litfin

True North Stakes by Kenny PeckThere is no shortage of speed in the Grade 2, $250,000 True North, and that should work to the advantage of PALACE (#7, 8-1). The son of City Zip hasn't been out since February, when he was 4th in the General George at Laurel, but he has run well when fresh in the past. He's also proven at this track and distance, and his best Beyers are plenty good enough to win this. Of course, the race flow should set up for other closers, too. That includes SALUTOS AMIGOS (#6, 5-1), who rises in class after three straight wins, but his Beyers and running style clealry suggest he fits. BAKKEN (#8, 5-2) is the Morning Line favorite even though he hasn't been out since running 5th in the Malibu at Santa Anita in late December. He's also unproven when it comes to passing horses late. That's not to say he can't rate, but at a short price, and with a quick pace likely, it's not worth taking a short price to find out. I'll play PALACE to win if he's anywhere near his 8-1 ML price.

Vulnerable FavoriteTWILIGHT ECLIPSE (#11, 9-5) returns off the 10 week freshening following Dubai debacle; trip has taken its toll on many U.S. based horses over the years and will let him beat me. - Chuck Kuehhas
