Hook Em

Sire wins with approximately 15% of his turf starters and this is the first foal from a dam who was winless from seven starts, including five turf starts; he has some early speed to employ and he does have a turf leaning pedigree.

Social Affair

Half-brother to G1 stakes placed Dancing Forever (5-22, 901k over turf) and stakes placed Puzzling (2-13, 108k over turf) ran well at first asking, and when looking at his short comment from his second start, it probably just wasn't his day; must consider.

Dig Alittle Deeper

Stakes placed gelding will appreciate the class relief after running well in a G2 event in his latest start and that race has proven to be productive; winner from latest won next out at Kee on 10/4 going 1 1/16m in a G1 with a 74 Beyer and 3rd fiisher won next out at WO on 10/20 going 1 1/16m in a 251k stakes with a 75 Beyer; he's a 1/2 to G3 winner Jack Milton (2-7, 293k over turf).

Texas Zip

He finished behind today's rival Great Minds in his career debut and the third-place finisher from that race returned to win next out here on 10/14 going 1 1/16m over turf vs. MSW rivals with a 71 Beyer; Ortiz has won with 9 of 24 (38%) mounts for this barn in 2013.

Mischievous One

A slow early pace helped him stay involved in the running longer than expected in his turf debut in his latest outing and he finished behind today's rival Little Boss in that race; tough to give him a favorable push in this tough maiden special weight event.

He nearly got the job done in his career debut and he might deserve extra credit for that performance when considering that this is an outfit that doesn't usually have them geared up at first asking; third-place finisher from debut won next out here on 10/14 going 1 1/16m over turf vs. MSW rivals with a 71 Beyer; Alvarado has won with 33 of 125 (26%) mounts for this barn in 2013.

Innovation Economy

It's probably worth noting the presence of Maragh aboard another in here, but he's done some decent work racing over turf, and he figures to be a part of the early pace picture with the addition of blinkers; he's out of a minor stakes winning dam who won 9 of 31 turf starts for 241k.

Justin Nguyen

Sire wins with approximately 12% of his turf starters and stakes winning dam won 12 of 34 starts for 474k, including 0-for-1 over turf; turf is a question, but he's shown a little something in his first three starts and he gets blinkers for his turf debut.

Race 2

Indy's Million

They paid a lot of money for this gal at auction last year and she didn't get much pace to run at when finally unveiled earlier in the month; she will get Lasix for this and the added panel should help this full sister to SW router and 164K earner Million Seller who won 3 times going long; eligible to offer much more, but she shows up in heat full of impressive pedigrees.

Fleet of Gold

Sire gets 10% first out winners from his offspring and the dam was a 2 time G1 SW router and 1.7 million earner whose other foals to race were a combined 0 for 7 on the track; filly didn't go for much in the sales ring and her listed breezes aren't quick or long for a route unveiling, but this barn knows how to get them ready.

Whispering

Failed to pick up her feet sprinting first out here last month and now she'll stretch out while switching to a bug pilot; dam dropped 2 multiple route winners from 3 other foals to race so maybe the added ground helps move her up some for a barn that's profitable with the move, but she's still got some improving to do off what she showed in her debut.

U. S. S. O'Brien

Took all the money first out at Saratoga this summer and didn't get off to the sharpest dirt, but she did make a nice run to pass some runners and last for a share in an educational debut run; filly worked well here earlier in the week for a hot outfit that does well both fresh and on the stretchout and her top pilot sticks; dam's side of the pedigree doesn't suggest she'll love the route, but her sire was a local classic winner; contender.

Got Lucky

Sire gets 11% first out winners from his offspring and the dam was a limited sprint winner whose lone foal to race was 0 for 2 on the track; works aren't much and this pilot doesn't ride for them that often, but this barn does excel right out of the box and her immediate male pedigree influences say 8 panels should suit her.

Sabbatical

Offered little in her 2 turf spins and now she'll give the main track a shot; though she's kin to a couple of nice turfers including G1 SP, SW and 363K earner Imagining, her pedigree suggests she could be quite good on the dirt as her G1 SP, G2 SW dam earned all of her 696K bankroll over the footing; can't overlook her, especially if the rains come.

My Surfer Girl

Adds the hood while stretching out off a weak first out sprint try last month; dam was a restricted SW router and 185K earner and each of her sibs to go long was a 2 time route winner; maybe she's more prominent from the bell today and she's another who would probably like it wet.

Penwith

Barn does a nice job with its second out runners and given this gal's pedigree they probably weren't expecting all that much out of her in her sprint debut; dam was a 2 time G1 SW router and 731K earner and she's dropped a couple of G1 SP routers in 339K earner Centring and Tranquil Manner who banked 239K; appears capable of going much better today.

Miss Besilu

They paid 2.6 million for this gal and named her after the stable so she obviously carries high hopes; she's kin to no less than 8 route winners including 2005 Horse of the Year Saint Liam who took 4 G1 routes and banked 4.4 million in his career and her sire gets 10% first out winners from his offspring; barn is known for taking its time with youngsters, but this gal certainly has the bloodlines to be a good one and will get plenty of real estate in which to strut her stuff.

Race 3

Unknown Road

Moderate breeze pattern for this beginner, son of multiple G1 winner Bernardini (who banked 3.06 million and whose progeny have won 11 percent of their debuts); the dam went 3 for 15 earning 106K; among the winning sibs is multi G1 type Banshee Breeze, who amassed 2.78 million.

Surfing U S A

Upbeat a.m.moves of late for this colt whose sire won a G1 and 1.22 million overall; offspring of Roman Ruler have won 34 out of 248 initial starts; the dam won 4 of 18 and 212K; winning siblings include 55K earner A McCoughtry.

Rich 'n' Tuck

Latest upstate training track breeze was excellent; her sire won multiple G1s and 1.23 million; descendants of Dixie Union are 64 for 547 as far as winning their first test; the dam won 1 of 4 and 35K; this is her only foal to start.

Sky Drama

Prompted the pace on a wide path in his Saratoga attempt; his sire won a G1 and 633K while the dam scored in 2 of 12 appearances earning 17K; winning siblings include 31K earner Oxford Street; upgraded a bit in latest half-mile breeze.

Permanent Campaign

Ran into a strong field in that third assignment and could not threaten; picks up Maragh, who has been riding in top form, and the latest workout suggests he can be more of a presence here; the betting value should be there.

Chomsky

Beaten favorite appears the one to beat today; his sire won multiple G2s and 769K while the dam involved was unraced and this is her sole foal to compete; this colt did not run his best race over an unfamiliar sloppy surface last month.

Mack Miller

Faded midstretch in his first route attempt, the turnback in distance should help his cause substantially here; he was game to win a pitched battle for the place 2 races ago and should be able to obtain comfortable stalking position here.

Peace Mission

Offspring of Harlan's Holiday, who won 3.63 million including G1 success, have scored in 66 out of 458 debuts; the dam won 2 of 19 and 62K; winning siblings include 97K earner Royal Parade; worked today's distance 11 days ago.

War Ready

His sire won a G1 and 1.02 million; progeny of More Than Ready have scored in 86 out of 674 initial attempts; the dam was zero for 2 lifetime and this is her only foal to make it to the races; steady breeze regimen during the last month or so.

Coordinate

Quit early in his only start while huge odds; his sire was a G1 type who won 2.67 million while the dam never raced; this is her only foal to start; switches to apprentice handling but wide draw is a major concern.

Little Tom

Breezing in above average fashion at the shore; his sire won 1 of 12 and 44K; descendants of Freud have won nearly 12 percent of their first races; the dam was unraced; winning siblings include 60K earner Carl's Only Vice.

Race 4

Storm Swept

She got it right in her debut, when she stalked and pounced for a two-length win at this distance at Bel; is bred to be quite effective at one-turn, as her dam registered all three of her wins in sprints and has produced a sprint stakes winner in Changing Weather ($331K); can share.

Yes Liz

She was favored over Miss Behavior last out in the Sorority and finished a credible second to runner who has since returned to win the Grade 2 Matron and is the one to beat here; as for other 2013 Sorority alums, fourth-place finisher Aibhilin returned in her next start to take the $100K Selima at Lrl with a Beyer Figure of 72, and seventh-place finisher, Flay Mignon, the $60K Jersey Juvenile, at Mth, with a Beyer of 78; chief threat to Miss Behaviour.

Miss Behaviour

She's an undefeated Grade 2 winner and clearly the one to beat; took the Matron at this distance at Bel and for the effort earned what ranks as this field's best last-race Beyer Figure; and since then, she's turned a bullet five furlongs in 57.80 seconds, a move that not only suggests she is thriving but also reiterates she is the dominant speed in this spot; choice.

Tea Time

She tested the best of her division last out following a smashing maiden allowance score, leading the Frizette field for a good while before being overtaken by a pair of runners who have since been pre-entered in the $2M Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies; is cutting back to the distance of her biggest Beyer; leading contender.

Winekeeper

She's quick; she broke on top last time and sailed to a more than four length win in a $75K maiden claiming sprint at Bel; was claimed out of the race by barn that excels with new acquisitions; also like that she has been favored in both of her career starts; tracks Miss Behaviour?

Alpaca Fina

She's another making her first start off the claim for Jacobson, who wins at an above average rate with such runners; has an off-the-pace style that might be well-served here were Winekeeper and perhaps Tea Time able to put some pressure on Miss Behaviour; dam was a Grade 2 winner of $323K.

Race 5

Candy Portena

Candy Ride about 15% with juvenile debuters in a 186-runner study, about 10% with first-time turfers in a 225-runner sample; sire didn't race at 2, was unbeaten in 6 outs, took G1 Pacific Classic, banked $750K, won thrice on grass; dam 0 for 4; this is her first to race; lean toward watching one.

Queen of the Spa

First Samurai 8 for 102 with juvenile debuters, 11 for 100 with first-time turfers; 5 for 8 sire took juvenile debut, won Champagne and Hopeful, never turfed; dam won at 2, lost twice on grass; this is her first to race; could need experience.

Rachel's Temper

Off a career Beyer but considering the cut back she could be left with a lot of work to do late; dam did win 3 times on grass; has some things to iron out.

Pretty solid turf debut considering the traffic jam; dam was unraced; this is her first to race; with a clear trip, it could be a whole new ballgame.

Sals Wonderfulgirl

Had to rush up from the rail after bobbling, understandably tired; dam won once as older horse; 2 of 5 sibs won but both tried at 2 but failed to have juvenile success; will at least muddle the pace if he suits up.

Race 6

Morethanawarning

Didn't do much in her first crack with winners over the local sod a few weeks back and now she'll move in a slot; like the way she rallied over a course with some give in it to break her maiden 2 starts back and there does look to be a little bit of lick in here to give her an honest setup; may be worth a look at a price if the rains come.

Miss Frost

She's shown some solid early foot on the lawn and took a step back after challenging for the top in her first crack over the local sod last time; filly gets a new pilot for this and will likely be pushed from the bell with the move a little closer to the fence; there's some other lick in the heat, but with a move forward she could last a lot longer this time.

Duff One

Sat a good trip but came up with little late in her first local course try last time but still finished in front of a couple of the gals she'll catch again in this ungraded heat; filly was pretty good first time going long upstate and it does look as if the pace in front of her will be honest today; contender.

Ketel Twist

Needed the move to the main track to get through the maiden ranks following 3 straight runner up finishes on the green to begin her career; filly will get Lasix here and the barn does keep them going once they get them good, but she's going to need to take another good step forward to go at this level.

A Little Bit Sassy

Delaware graduate tackles winners after wiring non-winners through moderate splits in her initial route try; they paid a good amount for her at auction last year and her dam was a SW sprinter so maybe this lightly raced gal will improve quickly, but there is other speed in here so if she wants to win this one on the front end she'll really have to earn it.

La Reine Bourbon

Impressed in breaking her maiden rather easily first out upstate, but the wide trup subsequently did her in as the chalk against stakes company; filly was given some time off the effort by a sharp barn and she worked well over the local sod for this last weekend; with a top pilot getting aboard, have to think she's ready to get back on track here; giving her the nod to beat them home.

Bikini Beauty

Sharp turf barn brings her back with Lasix which has been a pretty potent move for them; stakes debut was poor, but she did suffer through a wide trip in that one and showed first out that she has at least a little bit of ability; price should be right to give her a look.

Aibhilin

Sprint SW tries a route of ground for the first time in her local debut; like the fact she's been able to settle early and pass runners on the lawn, but expect she'll find herself a little closer to the pacesetters here; she is kin to a main track route winner.

Zloty

Overcame slow early clip to break her maiden through a fast final fraction earlier in the month; barn's second runner in here tries winners for the first time here, but she'll also get some pace in front of her and may well be this good; contender.

Summerdale

Statebred tries open company stakes runners after holding on to upset restricted maidens first time out sprinting over the course; she's breezed pretty well in the interim and is kin to an 8 time main track route winner so the added ground should be up her alley, but the waters to get a lot deeper in this spot.

Fierce Boots

Had some trouble behind a couple of these in her turf route debut upstate and needed the move to the Parx dirt to break through the maiden ranks; Pletcher barn does solid work on the surface switch and though this gal's best sib, G1 SW router and 865K earner Power Broker, was 0 for 2 on the green she is also kin to a surface winner.

Recepta

Looked pretty good breaking her maiden from off the pace in the Spa slop, but was quickly fed to G1 types who loom solid contenders on Breeders Cup Day; she breaks from a tough post, but will catch a much easier bunch in this spot; sire gets about 12% first time surface winners and the dam also won on the green prior to dropping 2 foals who won over the stuff; can't overlook for a barn that's developed some nice female turfers over the years.

Race 7

High Heel Kitten

Strong showing on the odds board in the unveiling then missed by under 2 lengths for all the money despite a nightmare trip squeezed at the start then raced 6 wide; 45 days away for a 33%-winning-fresh barn and 33%-BEL jockey-trainer combo; scary-win prospect with a clean trip and normal 2nd-time out improvement.

Fingers Crossed

Massive-form improvement 2nd-time out 1st turf; 2nd-time racing Long is often an angle that moves a runner forward; figures for a similar midpack ground-saving trip as last; the debut runner-up finisher posted a 69 Beyer speed figure in her next-out BEL-MSW win.

Knacque

Raced on the lead in last and seems the one to catch here; hopes to carry her speed more effectively 2nd-time Long which is often an improvement angle; rider of last pair sides with Jazil's Dream for this; know her early but unsure about late.

Ranger's Girl

Sire is 1-for-9 with 1st-turf starters; 0-19 with 2-year-old debut runners; 1-for-4 dam (7K) did not race on grass; 12 of 13 foals to race are winners (top earner 2.9M G1 Evening Attire); 3 of 12 foals to race on turf are grass winners including 39K-turfer Dr Rockett (1-for-10).

Monserrat

Ran to the 45-1 debut odds beating one home hoping 1st Lasix and 2nd-time Long will help display a dramatic-form improvement; the dirt workouts for this are not inspiring; debut rider lands on the speedy Knacque; would be a surprise.

Lassie's Landing

Sire is 50-for-533 with 1st-turf starters; 27-for-290 with 2-year-old debut runners; she is the 1st foal out of a 2-for-4 dam (57K) who did not race on grass; has been working strongly for a 33%-winning BEL-jockey-trainer combo.

Jazil's Dream

Slight 2nd-time out improvement on dirt; the turf debut comes back as a key race with the runner-up and show finishers both graduating next out in KEE-Grade 3 and BEL MSW wins with 78-70 Beyers; the workouts for this do not inspire while the 6%-winning BEL-jockey-trainer has me seeking the winner elsewhere.

Seeking Her Glory

Did not want dirt 2nd-time out while the debut key-race turf saw her chase next-out KEE-G3 and BEL-MSW winners (78-70 Beyers); exchanged decisions with Jazil's Dream while flashing strong gate speed in last; she figures to be upclose early here then hopes to hang on late for a share.

Medaglia d'Argento

Sire is 24-for-268 with 1st-turf starters; 1st foal from a Grade 3 who dam banked 430K on grass (6-for-25); light Beyer for the 32-1 loss when fading on dirt; the trainer yields just 7% first-grass winners since 2012; others appeal more.

Striking Style

Burned betting money in last pair with a declining-Beyer pattern for this; seeks to make amends; middle moved in the debut vs. the runner-up finisher who Beyered 81 in a next-out SAR-100K stakes win; breaks wide here so sure to lose ground; the good news is the new rider wins 31% for the barn since 2012.

Truly Mizzed

Promising-career debut exacta finish then put in a good-looking dirt workout for this; the barn is just 1-for the last-16 with maiden-2nd-time starters for an 0-for-17-BEL-jockey-trainer combo; see some upside off the unveiling but must overcome the ground-losing wide draw to graduate.

Mansion House (IRE)

Have to respect the form that he's displayed racing in Ireland and he's making his first start in America for a top turf barn while getting Lasix for the first time; he's an interesting option to consider and Ortiz has been getting live calls from Clement.

Tuscan Getaway

Sire wins with approximately 10% of his turf starters and dam won once from seven starts for 6k, and she didn't make a turf start; this gelding is a 1/2 to stakes placed Cat and a Half (8-38, 189k, including 5 of 23 turf starts for 103k); respect his speed and he's multiple stakes placed but others entice more.

Sonny Inspired

He's by a fine turf sire and he's run well in back-to-back starts over turf at Laurel with the addition of blinkers prior to this; it remains to be seen if he can handle the added distance, but he has early zip and commands respect as a contender; Cruise has won with 6 of 14 (43%) mounts for this barn in 2013.

McNick

Sire wins with approximately 13% of his turf starters and dam was winless from two starts, including 0-for-1 over turf; he might find himself involved in the running early on but looking at this as a tough spot for his first turf start.

Smiling Charlie

Respect the work that this barn does with young/lightly raced horses, but this colt must show more while meeting up with winners for the first time after getting the job done as a heavy odds-on favorite at Delaware Park; Cintron has won with 24 of 92 (26%) mounts for this barn in 2013.

Enthrone

Have a tough time backing a maiden in a spot like this and he was beaten by today's rival Cabo Cat in his latest start; this will be his third stakes attempt and just not sure that he's going to prove to be this caliber of horse.

Cabo Cat

He has a fine pedigree for turf, and his dam won 3 of 9 turf starts for 92k, and he was an impressive winner in his career debut; however, he's faced with a much tougher assignment today and he loses the services of Castellano to Storming Inti; not counting him out of it, but leaning toward others.

Storming Inti

He's two-for-two in the quality start department to begin his career and he made his career debut in a tough spot, Bashart has since become a G2 winner over turf and Artic Slope is G1 stakes placed over the synthetic surface at Kee; Castellano has won with 14 of 40 (35%) mounts for this barn at the current meeting.

Financial Mogul

He's looked good in his first three starts and he'll have the look of a top contender while dropping out of a G2 event if this race gets moved to the main track; he was sharp in winning an off-the-turf event at Saratoga at second asking and that level of performance can play well against these.

Instrumental

Twice beaten favorite can atone today with an inside journey; her versatile sire won the G1 Hopeful and 818K overall; the dam scored in 3 of 24 appearances earning 137K; among the winning siblings is 337K earner Willy o'the Valley.

Curious post position history to consider for this filly who lost significant ground in the last pair after a troubled inside run first time out; perhaps cutting back a furlong will help her cause; longshot seems worth some inclusion.
