Bellamy Road to stand in Ky.

Grade 1 winner Bellamy Road will enter stud in 2007, becoming the first stallion to stand at Ben Walden Jr.'s new stallion venture, Hurricane Hall, near Georgetown, Ky.

Walden, the founder and former owner of Vinery, and his partners Brad Kelley, Pat Madden, and David Hanley purchased the historic farm last fall. Bellamy Road, who has not raced since injuring his right foreleg last summer, will be the first stallion on the roster and will have a fee of $10,000 for 2007.

Bellamy Road raced for George Steinbrenner's Kinsman Stable. He won the 1 1/8-mile Wood Memorial last year, equaling the track record of 1:47 and setting a stakes record. He went into the Kentucky Derby as the favorite, but injured his left foreleg in that race and finished seventh.

Bellamy Road retires with a record of 7-4-1-0 and $811,400 in earnings. Walden said Bellamy Road will be syndicated.
