Bellamy Road colt, Tizway filly breeze fastest furlong at OBS fall mixed under-tack show

DRF Breeding Staff|Oct 12, 2015

A Bellamy Road colt and a Tizway filly turned in the co-fastest eighth-mile breeze on Monday during the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. fall mixed sale’s optional under-tack show, covering the distance in :10 1/5 seconds.

The 2-year-old Bellamy Road colt is out of the stakes-placed In Excess mare Bafferta, who is the dam of seven winners from eight foals of racing age. Consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent, the colt’s family includes Grade 2 winner Modus Vivendi and Grade 3-placed Roman Image.

The Tizway filly, a bay juvenile from her sire's first crop named Volume Discount, is out of the Grade 3-placed Touch Gold mare Yogi'ssplashofgold, whose first foal to race is a winner. TdM Sales, agent, consigns the filly, who is from the family of stakes winner Yogi's Polar Bear and Grade 2-placed Touch the Wire.

A 2-year-old colt from the first crop of Trappe Shot was fastest over two furlongs, completing his breeze in :21 seconds flat over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

The dark bay or brown colt, consigned as agent by TdM Sales, is the first foal out of the unraced Forest Grove mare Kelley’s Dancer. Grade 3 winners Unbridled Hope, Sugar Shock, and Bearpath can be found on his page.

Two horses tied for the best time at three furlongs, with a 4-year-old Malibu Moon gelding and a 2-year-old Crown of Thorns filly each covering the distance in :32 4/5 seconds.

Jazz Player, by Malibu Moon, has placed in one of three starts for earnings of $13,050. He is out of the Premiership mare Partyship, whose eight winners from 12 foals include Grade 3-placed stakes winner Barrier Reef and stakes-placed runners Artic Party and Kissin Party. Classic Bloodstock consigns Jazz Player as agent.

The Crown of Thorns filly is out of the Grand Slam mare Phanie Slam, who is the dam of stakes-placed Phaniebdancing. Consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, agent, the chestnut filly’s page also includes Grade 1 winner Vivid Angel and Grade 3 winners Fine N’ Majestic and Electric Flash.

The OBS fall mixed sale will commence Tuesday with a consignor-select session, then conclude Wednesday with open and horses of racing age sessions, beginning each day at 10:30 a.m.
