Bella Sofia part of small field in Vagrancy Handicap

Bella Sofia, the Test winner of 2021, will make her 4-year-old debut in Saturday’s Grade 3, $150,000 Vagrancy Handicap at 6 1/2 furlongs.
Bella Sofia, unraced since running fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, will face just five rivals led by six-time stakes winner Frank’s Rockette.
Bella Sofia and Frank’s Rockette are the last two winners of the Grade 2 Gallant Bloom Handicap, a 6 1/2-furlong sprint stakes run here during the fall.
Completing the field are Miss Brazil, a third-level allowance winner in her 4-year-old debut; Kept Waiting, second in the Grade 2 Distaff at Aqueduct on April 9; and Assertive Style, a recent claim for $80,000 by Tom Morley.
Officiating, Chateau rematched in Runhappy
Officiating shipped in from Florida in March to win the Grade 3 Tom Fool Handicap at Aqueduct by five lengths over Chateau.
Those two sprinters meet again in Saturday’s Grade 3, $150,000 Runhappy Stakes, which drew a field of only six. The field includes Repo Rocks, who finished third in the Tom Fool and who two starts later won an optional claiming race by 5 3/4 lengths with a career-best 99 Beyer Speed Figure.
Also entered in the Runhappy are Drafted, the Grade 3 Toboggan winner, Mr Phil and Answer In.
