Beknown to Me takes Lincroft by 9 1/4

OCEANPORT, N.J. - Beknown To Me took over the lead halfway through the one-mile $50,000 Lincroft Handicap for New Jersey-breds, and then romped to a 9 1/4-length victory in the off-turf-feature at Monmouth Park Sunday.

Beknown To Me, trained by Manuel Berrios, covered the distance in 1:38.36 under Chuck Lopez. Holiest Punch was second and H.M.S. Jackson third.

Beknown To Me captured the Lincroft Handicap last year when it was slated for the dirt. This year it was moved off the turf and run over a good track.

The win gave Beknown To Me, a 5-year-old gelding, his ninth win in 27 career starts.
