Making his first start off the layoff, and first as a 3-year-old, he was forced to contest the pace with a pair of rivals to the stretch, left them behind (they finished last and next to last), and stayed gamely only to succumb to a closing winner late. Tried stretching out to no avail last year, but appears to have a future as a sprinter.

Group 1-quality filly was making her U.S. debut as a heavy favorite in the Sheepshead Bay, and made it look like an easy game while sweeping the field from last to first in a matter of strides. She got clear in the stretch without ever getting down to serious business.
