Was off to a poor start in his career debut, which left him in a difficult position over a short sprint distance, but he made a long run to get into contention and stayed on gamely in the stretch to continue gaining ground on a favored winner. Was sent off at a big price for lower-profile connections, but he ran a legitimately good race for the level and has some pedigree to back him up.
