Cut back to sprint following series of solid efforts routing since his return from a layoff, and outdueled an odds-on favorite on a fast pace, only to succumb to a perfectly ridden winner late.

Was one of two of interest to debut for this trainer during the abbreviated week, and while the other (Quest for Fire) was an easy winner in fast time on Sunday, this one gained what appeared to be a useful education while getting into some traffic and taking dirt behind horses before racing on well to the finish.
