Becky's Exchange rallied to beat Fast Tigress by a neck in the $65,000 Desert Vixen Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on the turf at Monmouth Park.\nIt was an impressive effort in the filly's stakes debut. Becky's Exchange ($22.40) improved to 2 for 3 since trainer Ned Allard switched her to the grass.\n"The first few times we ran this filly, she didn't run that well," Allard said. "Frank Generazio, the owner, told me, 'Don't give up on this filly until you try her on the turf.' "\nWise advice, as it turned out.\nElvis Trujillo gave Becky's Exchange a heady ride. They got away second as Platinum Girl, with blinkers back on, bounded to a big early lead. Trujillo yielded when Lady Kafca swept up to take second. Lady Kafca then did the heavy lifting, tracking and eventually reeling in Platinum Girl.\nBecky's Exchange, meanwhile, had plenty left for the stretch run, fanning three wide to gamely prevail gamely. Fast Tigress, the 8-5 favorite, rallied from last to force the issue in the lane.\nThe time was 1:42.49 for the 1 1/16 miles on turf labeled good. Lady Kafca was third, followed by Powder Burn, Platinum Girl, Neptuna and Direct Line.
