Becca's Rocket becomes stakes winner in Spotted Horse

Becca’s Rocket became a stakes winner Friday night, when she drove to a three-length win over Lady Valentine in the $50,000 Spotted Horse at Evangeline Downs. It was another 2 1/4 lengths back in third to Hannah’s Heaven.
The one-mile race for fillies and mares was restricted to non-winners of a stakes, or horses who had started at the current meet at Evangeline.
Becca’s Rocket ($3.20) entered off a third-place finish in the Iowa Distaff at Prairie Meadows. She was content to stalk the pace set by Lady Valentine, who put up fractions of 24.37 for the opening quarter and 48.33 for the half-mile. Becca’s Rocket advanced on the final turn, moved to the lead coming to the quarter pole, and went on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:38.55.
