Becca Taylor, Elm Drive expected to top Great Lady M.

Led by the graded stakes winners Becca Taylor and Elm Drive, the Grade 2 Great Lady M. Stakes at Los Alamitos on Monday has a projected field of seven fillies and mares.
The $200,000 Great Lady M. Stakes is run at 6 1/2 furlongs and is the richest race of the three-week Los Angeles County Fair meeting at Los Alamitos, which continues through July 10.
The Great Lady M. was scheduled to be drawn at midday Friday.
Becca Taylor won the Grade 3 Desert Stormer Stakes at six furlongs at Santa Anita on June 4. It was the third stakes win for Becca Taylor, who is owned by Nick Alexander and trained by Steve Miyadi. Samurai Charm, third in the Desert Stormer, is an expected runner in the Great Lady M. Stakes.
Elm Drive won the Grade 2 Sorrento Stakes at six furlongs for 2-year-old fillies at Del Mar last August and won her 2022 debut in the Angels Flight Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at seven furlongs on May 8. The Great Lady M. Stakes will be Elm Drive’s first start against older fillies and mares.
Other probable runners in the Great Lady M. Stakes are Ain’t Easy, Brandon’smylawyer, Cover Version and Lady Mystify.
