Be Your Best, who won the P.G. Johnson Stakes at Saratoga last summer, returns to New York and is the only stakes winner among eight 3-year-old fillies entered in Thursday’s Grade 3, $200,000 Wonder Again Stakes. After winning the P.G. Johnson, Be Your Best finished third in the Miss Grillo at Aqueduct and finished her 2-year-old campaign with a ninth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. She made her 3-year-old debut in the Grade 2 Appalachian at Keeneland, where she finished seventh. Trainer Horacio De Paz indicated she likely needed that race. Be Your Best will take on a trio of runners from the barn of Chad Brown, who has won four of the first nine runnings of this race. Brown will send out Revalita, runner-up in the Grade 2 Edgewood at Churchill on May 5, and maiden winners Prerequisite and Venecia. Spansive, 2 for 2 for Todd Pletcher, Allamericanbeauty, an allowance winner in April at Keeneland, Juniper’s Moon and Thirty Thou Kelvin complete the field. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
