Be Vewy Vewy Quiet wins the 2017 Clarendon Stakes
Michael Burns Clarendon winner Be Vewy Vewy Quiet has been defeated at short prices in his last two stakes starts.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Be Vewy Vewy Quiet will try to rebound off two short-priced losses on Saturday at Woodbine in the $125,000 Frost King Stakes, a seven-furlong sprint for Ontario-sired juveniles.

Be Vewy Vewy Quiet won his 5 1/2-furlong debut by 11 1/4 lengths in July, and then doubled up over that same distance in the Clarendon Stakes in August.

Be Vewy Vewy Quiet was bet down to 3-10 in his last two outings, both six-furlong stakes. He finished a close third Sept. 2 in the open Colin, and was a lapped-on second Oct. 9 in the restricted Bull Page.

“He’s doing very well,” said trainer Robert Tiller, who won the 2006 Frost King with Dancer’s Bajan. “The extra distance will help him. I really think the farther he goes, the better he’ll be. I think he’s a two-turn horse.”

A field of 10 was drawn for the Frost King, which goes as race 8 on a 10-race program.

◗ This will be his first start under Rafael Hernandez, who was aboard for a half-mile breeze in 49.40 seconds last Saturday.

Silent Sting, by Silent Name
Beyers: 69-60

◗ After ending up second to the future Bull Page winner Latonka in his six-furlong debut, he rode an outside-closing bias to victory in a seven-furlong maiden special on Oct. 7.

Smooth Talk, by Court Vision
Beyers: 65-48

◗ He was a flat third at first asking as the even-money choice July 29, but after a layoff he won a six-furlong maiden special on Oct. 15 by four lengths. Eurico Da Silva, who rode Be Vewy Vewy Quiet in the Bull Page, is sticking with this Catherine Day Phillips trainee.
