BC Juvenile Fillies candidate Electric Ride dead
ARCADIA, Calif. – Electric Ride, second in the Grade 2 Chandelier Stakes for 2-year-old fillies on Oct. 1 at Santa Anita, died earlier this month of anaphylactic shock, according to the California Horse Racing Board’s website.
Owned by Talla Racing and trained by John Sadler, Electric Ride was considered a candidate for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies on Nov. 5 at Del Mar.
“She had a reaction,” Sadler said Sunday.
Purchased for $250,000 at a 2-year-olds in training sale in April, Electric Ride won a maiden special weight race at six furlongs by 8 1/2 furlongs in her debut at Del Mar. In the Chandelier Stakes at 1 1/16 miles, Electric Ride set the pace and was beaten 4 3/4 lengths by Ain’t Easy.
