Baze sustains bruises in spill

Jockey Russell Baze appeared to sustain only bruises to his left shoulder and left hip after falling when Trolley Belle collapsed entering the stretch in a Friday night race at Bay Meadows.

X-rays taken at Stanford Hospital following the spill revealed no breaks, and Baze was at Bay Meadows on Saturday morning, although he took off his mounts for the day.

Additional X-rays were scheduled to be taken Sunday as a precautionary measure, but Baze is expected to resume riding Monday.
