ETOBICOKE, Ontario – With every stakes shipper who comes to Woodbine to race on Tapeta for the first time, it’s just a guess as to how the horse will do. The latest wild card is Bayerly Seen, a Brad Cox-trained invader from Indiana who should be among the favorites in Saturday’s $100,000 My Dear Stakes for 2-year-old fillies.

Bayerly Seen, from the first crop of Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Bayern, was slated to debut on turf at Indiana Grand on June 18. The five-furlong maiden special was moved to the dirt, and she won by 12 1/4 lengths as the heavy favorite.

Last Saturday at Indiana, Bayerly Seen breezed a half-mile in 48 seconds, the third-fastest of 60 works at the distance that morning.

The 5 1/2-furlong My Dear is the first 2-year-old stakes of the meet. It goes as the eighth on an 11-race card.
