Baublette takes next step in Friday allowance
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Baublette, an impressive entry-level allowance winner in her 3-year-old finale last fall at Aqueduct, makes the jump to the next level when she faces eight rivals in Friday’s $46,000 allowance feature at 6 1/2 furlongs over the main track.
Baublette, the younger sister of the stakes-placed Royal Story, earned a 90 Beyer Speed Figure for her 5 3/4-length victory at 6 1/2 furlongs on Nov. 19. The daughter of Unbridled’s Song is trained by Shug McGaughey.
Trainer Marty Wolfson, who’s rarely at a loss for horses to enter in filly-and-mare allowances or stakes around these parts, will counter with the pair of Curlin’s Princess and Pixie Devil. Curlin’s Princess finished seventh behind stablemates Cali Star and Best Behavior in the Grade 3 Rampart in her 2015 finale, while Pixie Devil makes her first start since finishing second behind the speedy R Free Roll in the Hollywood Beach Stakes during the spring of 2014.
Also in the field are Enchantress, Celebrity Star, Divine Praises, Ida Bambina, Sunset Silhouette, and Fond of Sarah.
