Batman Can likely favorite in Oklahoma Stallion Stakes

Mary Rampellini|Nov 26, 2014

Batman Can will shake the talented Shotgun Kowboy on Friday, when he starts as the probable favorite in the $50,000 colts-and-geldings division of the Oklahoma Stallion Stakes at Remington Park. The six-furlong race for 2-year-olds will share a card with the $50,000 fillies division of the Oklahoma Stallion Stakes, which drew the stakes winners Zealous Vision and Stratagem.

Remington will have a special first post of 1:30 p.m. Central.

Males division (Race 7)

KEY CONTENDERS

Batman Can (Beyers: 65-57)

◗ He was third to Shotgun Kowboy in the $85,000 Oklahoma Classics Juvenile at Remington in his most recent out Oct. 17, and since that start, Shotgun Kowboy has defeated open-company stakes rivals in the $100,000 Clever Trevor at Remington.

◗ The stakes that Batman Can exits has produced one additional next-out winner in Kenny Do the Math, who accounted for a maiden special weight race at Remington after running seventh in the Oklahoma Classics Juvenile.

◗ Batman Can was a front-running debut winner in his only other start, a maiden special weight for Oklahoma-breds on Sept. 5 at Remington.

◗ He will break from post 9 and could get a tracking trip behind the rail-drawn Mr. Megatron and the front-running debut winner Okey Dokey Kyle.

◗ Batman Can is a half-brother to Alpha Heat, a stakes-winning earner of $336,966.

◗ Belen Quinonez has the mount for trainer Clinton Stuart.

Okey Dokey Kyle (Beyer: 54)

◗ He’s been flattered since his debut win, with the runner-up and seventh-place finisher from the race returning to win $15,000 maiden-claiming races at Remington.

Mustang Eddie (Last 3 Beyers: 49-51-38)

◗ He’s a maiden facing winners, but he ran fourth to Shotgun Kowboy in the Oklahoma Classics Juvenile. Fillies division (Race 8)

KEY CONTENDERS

Dancing Diva (Beyers: 64-58)

◗ She was favored in the Oklahoma Classics Lassie at Remington on Oct. 17 and finished second to Zealous Vision, who also returns in this spot. Dancing Diva dueled through quick fractions and finished 2 1/2 lengths behind the winner.

◗ Dancing Diva brings good speed to the table, and her main pace rivals are drawn to her inside, as she will break from post 6.

◗ Dancing Diva is a daughter of the stakes-winning mare Midsummer Magic, an earner $188,752.

◗ Curtis Kimes has the mount for trainer Boyd Caster.

Ms Morris Code (Beyers: 35-46-40)

◗ She’s a maiden but bred to be a runner as a half-sister to Eye Love Jeanie, a stakes-winning earner of $175,268.

Strategem (Beyers: 51-38-49)

◗ She defeated males in July when she won the Wyoming Downs Thoroughbred Futurity.
