Barretts moves select 2-year-olds sale to February

The Barretts selected 2-year-olds in training sale will be held earlier on the calendar in 2014, moving up to Monday, Feb. 23.

The one-day sale will be held at Fairplex Park in Pomona, Calif., with the pre-sale under-tack show scheduled for Friday, Feb. 20. Nominations for the sale close Friday, Oct. 24.

The 2014 edition of the Barretts select juvenile sale was held on March 3.

“We’ll kick off the 2-year-old sales season in the west again this year,” said Barretts general manager Kim Lloyd. “Being first up the past three years, we’ve had huge gains and the highest select sale average increase of 2014.”

The select juvenile sale and the Barretts January mixed sale on Jan. 26 will be the final Berretts auctions conducted at the Fairplex facility. The sale company will then move its operations to Del Mar, beginning with the May sale of 2-year-olds in training on May 27.
