Barretts January sale catalog now online

The catalog for the 2014 Barretts January mixed sale is now online, with a book of 306 horses entered for the one-day auction.

The sale will be held Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. Pacific at the Hinds Pavilion in Pomona, Calif. The catalog is seven percent smaller than last year’s renewal of the Barretts January sale, which had 328 entries.

Among the first-year covering sires with mares in the catalog are Calimonco, Coil, Dialed In, Hansen, and Street Life. Newly-turned yearlings from the first crops of Cape Blanco, Recap, Scorewithcate and Sierra Sunset are included in the catalog as well.

The 2013 edition of the Barretts January sale closed with across-the-board gains, with 184 horses sold for revenues of $1,536,100, up 56 percent compared with the previous year. The average sale price of $8,348 was up 38 percent, while the median of $4,500 was a 50 percent improvement.
