Barretts catalogs 129 for May juvenile sale

The catalog for the 2014 Barretts’ May sale of 2-year-olds in training is now available online, featuring 128 listed offerings.

The one-day sale will be held Monday, May 12, in Pomona, Calif., beginning at 2 p.m. Pacific. The presale under-tack show will be held Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m. Pacific.

Last year’s May auction posted sizable gains in gross (up 63 percent), average (up 28 percent), and median (up 30 percent). The highest price was set by Can the Man, a $320,000 Into Mischief–Smolensk colt who was bought by Kaleem Shah and later in 2013 won the Speakeasy Stakes and placed in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity.
