Barbaro breezes a quarter-mile

Barbaro, the Kentucky Derby winner and heavy favorite for the 131st Preakness, went through a quarter-mile blowout Thursday morning over the one-mile dirt oval at the Fair Hill training center.

With regular rider Peter Brette aboard, Barbaro galloped about six furlongs at a two-minute clip before being asked for speed down the stretch to conclude his training. The unofficial time for the breeze was 24 seconds.
