Bangor Raceway: Bruce Ranger joins 9,000 win club
Bruce Ranger became just the 24th North America-based driver to reach the 9,000 win milestone when he took today's first race at Maine's Bangor Raceway with Anderlecht in 1:57 1/5.
Ranger, a mainstay at tracks in New England and also at Pompano Park down in Florida, began his career back in 1978. He took a hiatus from driving from June of 2015 to October of 2018, but has been competing regularly up in Maine since then. His best year in the bike came in 2004 when he piloted 569 winners and his drives earned $2.4 million.
To go with his 9,000 wins, his charges have banked over $36.7 million during his driving career.
