Baltas adds Group 3 winner to stable

Madam Dancealot, a Group 3 winner at Salisbury Racecourse in England on Sept. 1, was purchased for approximately $291,000 at the Goffs Champion Sale in Ireland last weekend and will join trainer Richard Baltas’s stable in California later this month.
Madam Dancealot will be pointed for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 4, according to David Meah, an assistant to Baltas who helped to organize the purchase.
Meah said that Madam Dancealot will be owned by the Slam Dunk Racing partnership. The filly will be sent to trainer Jamie Lloyd’s stable in central England for a few weeks before being shipped to California. Lloyd formerly trained in Southern California.
“He’ll gallop her and jog her and get her acclimated with a pony for what we do here,” Meah said.
Madam Dancealot, by Sir Prancealot, has won 2 of 6 starts. She won the Group 3 Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes at six furlongs at Salisbury on Sept. 1 in her most recent start. In June, Madam Dancealot was ninth behind the Kentucky-based filly Lady Aurelia in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Lady Aurelia, trained by Wesley Ward, is the leading contender for the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf.
