Balmoral: Wednesday 5/29 Analysis

Balmoral Park logo
$30,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Tonight (race 2)

Race 7 - $20,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (28 - 53 / $96.00): ROLL ON BIG DADDY (6th)

Spot Play: PRIVATE ASHLEY (7th)

Race 1

(4) FULL SERVICE filly is just racing evenly but finds a very weak field; improving. (7) SIERA BEST mare was used hard from the ten hole last out only to fade in the stretch. Four-year-old just needs a smooth trip to hit the board. If you could tell me (9) MYSTERY BOX would stay pacing I would say the 3-year-old is the horse to beat.

Race 2

(1) KING MUFASA has been razor sharp since being brought back; fires late. (1a) POWERFUL POE second part of the entry is no slouch having just missed to his partner in his last two. (6) FOX VALLEY CAMO gelding is also razor sharp and went a big trip last out storming home after being behind bad cover.

Race 3

(7) ALWAYS A CHEATER mare went by the field like they were standing still at a big price last out. Five-year-old would make it two in a row with a repeat of that effort. (2) PACING PENNY TWO was a game winner last out but faces tougher competition. (4) WALKNINTHEMOONLITE mare seems to lack stamina late in the mile; command a price.

Race 4

In a very bad field (9) SNEAKY could offer a nice price and just needs to find a way into the race. Three-year-old filly has showed a good burst of speed late. (1) WHOSHUR ST PAT filly has just been racing evenly but draws the rail in a very suspect field. (4) GUMCORNER BLACK put in a decent first start of the year showing some improvement.

Race 5

(5) BIG CHOCOLATE well bred stallion crushed last out and now faces a much tougher field but should have more in the tank. (6) CELEBRITY HERCULES gelding has been racing gamely for quite some time and just needs a fast pace up front to close into. (7) GEORGE'S VACATION never made up any ground on the leaders last out but had been sharp prior.

Race 6

In an inconsistent and inexperienced field (1) ROLL ON BIG DADDY has the best pedigree and appears to be pacing fastest of all; short price. (5) PAIN RELIEF gelding seems to come up empty when it matters late but could be the only threat to the top choice if he gets a good trip. (10) RING A DING DONG gelding had a couple of good efforts before the break in last and would be a threat if he minds his manners.

Race 7

(5) PRIVATE ASHLEY filly is very talented and should get a great spot off the gate; fires early. (7) SCHMATIE filly is pacing out her mind late and could be set up nicely with a fast pace up front. (8) MY MARISA CLAIR filly is saddled with a bad post put has consistently been pacing good miles.

Race 8

(5) A C H S gelding is making his third start of the year and appears to be pacing faster than most of the field. (4) IMPERSONAL lightly raced three-year-old colt showed significant improvement in his last start and should get a ground saving trip. (7) ROCK MY HART gelding made up some decent ground late in the mile last out and finds a field with a combined one win on the year.

Race 9

(6) ANTS INER PANTS mare came up empty last out after getting an easy middle half. Four-year-old took some time off and hasn't found her stride yet but faces an easier field. (4) LOOKIN' AHEAD gelding races inconsistently from week to week but did come back really sharp this year and just needs to stay trotting for a big chance. (3) OLYMPIC JEWELRY mare is racing deceptively good and should be a live longshot.

Race 10

(3) OLIVER BROWN went a big trip last out just getting picked off late. Gelding is versatile and just needs a repeat of his last two efforts to reach the winners' circle. (8) LARRY'S PLACE gelding kicked off cover nicely last out to get the victory. Nine-year-old could be the victim off a slow pace. (9) LITTLE MORE RAM stopped last out after dueling early. Veteran pacer would be a threat if he raced like he did two starts back.
