Spot Play: CASINO CAPTOR (8th)

Race 1

(1) TIME RUNNING OUT is a well-bred pacer that had no chance last out as the outer flow never developed. The 3-year-old gets the best post and has a ton of upside. (3) TEA PARTY PATRIOT has some ability and has been racing gamely. The gelding makes his third start back off a short layoff and has flashed some ability. (2) BEACH BOY BRODY has a monster late kick and could use some pace to close into; threat.

Race 2

(6) MISS PAT WEISAR takes a good drop in class into a weak field. (4) GENTLE JANET has been improving with each start and was the driver’s choice. Something’s been amiss with (2) GIMMEAZZZMOOCH all year long, but the mare does have the ability to win against this group when right.

Race 3

(6) WASHINGTON HANOVER should offer a fair price and faces significantly easier. (5) CHEWY BACA seems to have issues coming to the gate. If the pacer is lagged off four or five lengths, he should be played underneath. (3) MAJOR MALE has been inconsistent from week to week but one of his prior good efforts would do the trick; threat.

Race 4

Homebred (6) ROMPAWAY GALAXY is nine for 10 lifetime and should be primed for a big effort in his third start back. (9) RED SOLO CUP is a big question mark in the race because of the scratch. The well-bred trotter was an impressive winner in his most recent start. (10) FOX VALLEY VETO needs some racing luck but should also be ready for a good effort; use underneath.

Race 5

(6) IN OVER MY HEAD is in career form and is tough to go against; versatile. (5) FORT SILKY could be the only threat to the top choice and had just been starting to crank it up before the miscue. (3) ICE SCRAPER can go some big miles on the engine but usually can’t pace with the top choices late.

Race 6

(5) DIAMOND PEAK has a ton of potential and proven connections; threat. (9) PRAY WITH ME will offer a huge price and could be a sleeper in the race if the driver can get her involved. (6) DANCING DYNAMITE has some ability but has just been racing evenly against better.

Race 7

(5) FOX VALLEY CUPID faces much easier competition and should get a good trip up close to the pace. (10) BADGER QUINN should offer a nice price based on his last line that wasn’t his fault; threat. (7) BLUE RIVER was a game winner last out and could have gained some confidence.

Race 8

(5) CASINO CAPTOR has a big shot for new connections first time in the barn. (1) TIMEWELL has been pacing up a storm, gets the best post, and should have a big chance late. (2) WESTERN DEAL has had some very tough miles and is a threat with a smooth trip.

Race 9

(3) HELLO MY DREAM faces older but could be a big-time player and has been getting better with every start. (4) LOVE YOU ALWAYS put in a good effort last out and will try and blast for a pocket trip. (7) WHISTLE PIG saved her best effort for this week but would need a lot more to get past the top choice.

Race 10

(3) LIFE IS GOOD TODAY could be a touch overlooked in the race. Has been racing gamely and finds a slightly softer spot. (1) ST DAVID HANOVER gets sent out for connections that have been hot. (5) MAJOR MONET owns all the back class but has been off for a few weeks; fires early.

Race 11

(6) HEATH is just now rounding back into form and could pop at a price any week. (8) UNCLE BUD has been a cash burner this year but does have the ability to get his picture taken against this group. (9) PARK LANE DEPUTY makes his third start back off a layoff and should be ready for an improved effort.

Race 12

In a field with few contenders, (2) FIRSTCLASSALLTHWAY takes a big drop in class for a barn that is just now getting on track. (1) TINK AND TIGER has been racing gamely for new connections and also drops in class. (3) NO FEAR NO DOUBT has really blossomed into a nice pacer but is probably in over his head a bit; use underneath.

Race 13

(7) ARROYA BLUE CHIP faces a much softer bunch than what the she’s been facing and will be firing early. (1) BONJOUR MADAM could be the only threat to the top choice but comes off a scratch. (10) IAMLOVEDBYTHEKING should offer a giant price and put in a huge effort last out.
