Baffert-bred filly Bella Anatola upsets First Lady Handicap

Bella Anatola, who was co-bred by Triple Crown-winning trainer Bob Baffert, was a 4 1/2-length winner over Bright Town in the $30,000 First Lady Handicap on Saturday at Ruidoso Downs. It was another nose back in third to favorite Sky Rant.
The First Lady was for fillies and mares at six furlongs. It was the first stakes win for Bella Anatola.
Bella Anatola ($19.40) sat off fractions of 22.62 seconds for the opening quarter-mile and 45.95 for the half-mile before going on to cover the distance on a sloppy track in 1:12.55.
Frank Reyes was aboard for trainer Simon Buechler.
