Badge of Silver to Ontario’s Colebrook Farms Stallion Station

Grade 2 winner Badge of Silver will relocate to Colebrook Farms Stallion Station in Uxbridge, Ontario, for the 2014 breeding season and stand for an advertised fee of $7,500 Canadian (about $7,175).

The 13-year-old son of Silver Deputy previously stood at Airdrie Stud in Midway, Ky. He will stand at his new location in partnership between Colebrook Farms and the Badge of Silver Syndicate.

“I intend to send 10 quality mares to Canada to breed to Badge of Silver for the upcoming season,” said Brereton Jones, owner of Airdrie Stud and manager of the Badge of Silver Syndicate. “This is a great opportunity for such a nice stallion, and I look forward to racing more of his offspring at Woodbine.”

Badge of Silver has sired nine stakes winners from 287 foals of racing age in four crops. His runners are led by Grade 1 winner Silver Max, Grade 3 winner Silver Medallion, Peruvian champion and Grade 1-placed Fly Lexis Fly, and Grade 1-placed stakes winner King Congie.

On the racetrack, Badge of Silver won seven of 16 career starts for earnings of $1,047,892, highlighted by wins in the Grade 2 New Orleans Handicap and San Gabriel Handicap, as well as the Grade 3 Risen Star Stakes and Hal’s Hope Handicap. He is out of the winning Silver Hawk mare Silveroo, who is the dam of three winners from as many foals to race.
