Bach's Homebrew tries for Amadevil repeat

COLUMBUS, Neb. – Seven older Nebraska-breds meet in the $15,000-added Amadevil Stakes going 6 1/2 furlongs Saturday at Columbus.

The first stakes of the meet returns to its traditional distance after being shortened up to six furlongs last year. The field includes defending champ Bach’s Homebrew for trainer Larry Staroscik.

The Amadevil is the eighth race on a nine-race card that starts at 6:30 p.m. Central.

◗ He has 2 wins from 5 starts at the distance.

NIC A JACK (Last 3 Beyers: 77-46-79)

◗ Returns to Nebraska after a trio of starts at Canterbury Park.

◗ Comes off a fourth on turf after encountering traffic in the stretch.

◗ He was in solid form at Fonner Park and Horsemen’s Park this year, including finishing second twice to Diamond Joe.
