B. B. Dude all the way in Manzano Stakes

B. B. Dude broke on top and never looked back for a 2 1/2-length win over Nat Gio in the $50,000 Manzano on Saturday night at The Downs at Albuquerque. It was another 6 1/4 lengths back to Mc Awesome in third.
The Manzano was a six-furlong race for 2-year-olds.
B. B. Dude ($4.60) set fractions of 22.85 seconds for the opening quarter and 45.49 for the half-mile before covering the distance on a track rated “good” in 1:11.60. Enrique Gomez was aboard for Jerry Durant and trainer Steve Asmussen.
B. B. Dude is a son of Shakin It Up. He was a debut winner at Churchill Downs and came into the Manzano off a fifth-place finish to Wakefield in the $100,000 colts-and-geldings division of the Texas Thoroughbred Futurity at Lone Star Park.
B. B. Dude is now 2 for 3 for earnings of $63,819.
