Awesome Patriot relocating to Ohio

Awesome Patriot, a Grade 3-placed stakes winner, will relocate to Mapleton Thoroughbred Farm in Polk, Ohio, for the 2018 breeding season and will be advertised at a fee of $2,500.

The 9-year-old son of Awesome Again stood at Spendthrift Farm in Lexington, Ky., for the same price in 2017 and remains a member of the Spendthrift roster as a regional stallion. Awesome Patriot’s first foals are 2-year-olds of 2017, with eight winners, including stakes-placed Waki Patriot and Amberspatriot.

Bred in Kentucky by Colts Neck Stables, Awesome Patriot is out of the unraced Cee’s Tizzy mare Tizamazing, who is a full sister to Horse of the Year Tiznow and Grade 2 winners Budroyale and Tizdubai. Awesome Patriot is one of four winners from six runners out of Tizamazing. He is a full brother to 2013 Preakness Stakes winner Oxbow.

His extended family includes Grade 1 winner Paynter and Grade 3 winners Tiz West and Bettys Bambino.

Awesome Patriot won three of seven starts for earnings of $114,600. He finished third in the Grade 3 Hollywood Prevue Stakes as a juvenile, then came back at 3 to win the Alydar Stakes.
