Australia: Tudor Prince looks to build upon comeback race
Tudor Prince was a game second at 20-1 in a handicap at 1 1/4 miles at Queanbeyan Racecourse in Australia on Oct. 21 in his first start in 13 months.
A 6-year-old gelding, Tudor Prince closed from last of nine to miss by three-quarters of a length in a fine effort for a comeback.
A little more than two weeks later, Tudor Prince on Monday will start against a slightly easier field in a handicap at 1 1/4 miles at Queanbeyan Racecourse.
Trained by James Ponsonby, Tudor Prince is winless in four starts since a one-mile handicap at Moruya in August 2020. He drew post 2 against eight rivals in the forthcoming race at Queanbeyan and is a threat from off the pace.

This field consists largely of veterans. The 9-year-old gelding Hello China has won 8 of 46 starts, including a handicap at 1 1/4 miles at Wagga Wagga on Oct. 2, ending a 15-race losing streak since April 2020.
The distance should be a good fit for Private Detective, who returned from a six-month layoff to finish eighth of nine in a one-mile handicap at Scone on Oct. 22. Earlier this year, Private Detective won a one-mile handicap at Goulburn for his third career win.
Private Detective won a maiden race at 1 3/8 miles at Sunshine Coast in January 2020 in his sixth start. Private Detective has won 3 of 21 starts in his career. He tends to run near the front, and could have an early lead against closers such as Tudor Prince and Hello China.
The seven-race Queanbeyan program begins at 10:10 Eastern or 7:10 p.m. Pacific on Sunday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
