Australia: Time of Glory hopes to repeat winning pattern
The Australian gelding Time of Glory has won 4 of 24 races, and has twice recorded victories in his second start after brief layoffs.
That same scenario could occur in the fifth race at Taree Racecourse in Australia on Tuesday. Time of Glory was ninth of 12 at 25-1 in a handicap at six furlongs at Newcastle on July 7 in his first start since January. He appears to have a much better chance at Taree in a handicap at 6 1/4 furlongs.
Earlier in his career, Time of Glory won a maiden race in his second start after a three-month layoff in November 2018. Last November, he won a handicap at 6 1/2 furlongs in his second start after a three-month layoff. Time of Glory later finished fifth of seven in a handicap at Eagle Farm in January which led to the recent rest.

Time of Glory was assigned topweight of 138.8 pounds, but will carry 134.4 pounds due to the booking of apprentice jockey Kyle Wilson-Taylor. Wilson-Taylor had three wins in 50 mounts from June 11 to Saturday and will ride Time of Glory for the first time Tuesday.
First post time for Taree’s seven-race program is 11:27 p.m. Eastern, or 8:27 p.m. Pacific, on Monday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
Time of Glory tends to run from off the pace and is part of a field that does not have a confirmed frontrunner. The Snooperstar, a 3-year-old gelding, led throughout a six-furlong handicap at Scone on July 10, a reversal from his running style in previous starts. He could set the pace.
Texas Storm, who could be a slight favorite in a competitive field, is a threat from off the pace. A winner of 3 of 28 starts, Texas Storm has won 2 of 7 races in his career at Taree.
Illecebrous will be a factor, if she starts. Illecebrous was entered in a handicap on Monday at Cessnock Racecourse.
Illecebrous, trained by Kris Lees, has won 3 of 6 starts. A 3-year-old Australian-bred filly, Illecebrous has won her last two starts - a handicap at six furlongs at Port Macquarie on June 23 and a handicap at 5 1/2 furlongs at Grafton on July 8.
