Australia: Three fillies attract betting focus in Monday handicap
The fillies Decadent Tale, Stella Glow and Strelitzia, all winners of their last starts in Australia, dominate early betting for a handicap at 1 3/8 miles on turf at Scone Racecourse on Monday.
Each of those fillies has recent form easy to support, but are starting at the extended distance for the first time.
Stella Glow was the 8-5 favorite as of Saturday on the basis of wins in her last two starts earlier this month at Newcastle Racecourse. Trained by Scott Singleton, Stella Glow won a maiden race at about 1 1/8 miles on June 4 and a handicap at 1 3/16 miles by 6 3/4 lengths on June 22. She faces a slightly tougher field at Scone.
Decadent Tale is versatile. She won a maiden race at 5 3/4 furlongs in March and a handicap at 1 1/4 miles by a little more than 2 1/2 lengths at Port Macquarie on June 2. Decadent Tale also takes a jump in class.

Strelitzia won a handicap at 1 5/16 miles at Tamworth on May 31 at this handicap level by a little more than a neck for her second win in her last five starts and the longest race of her career.
All three have run from off the pace in recent starts, although Decadent Tale has won from the front.
The handicap is the first of seven races at Scone that begins at 10:40 p.m. Eastern, or 7:40 p.m. Pacific, on Sunday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
The race drew a field of 10. Of the runners who did not win their last starts, Mojo Classic holds appeal. A 3-year-old gelding trained by Singleton, Mojo Classic was second to Stella Glow at Newcastle on June 22, closing from off the pace to be closest to the front at the finish.
Mojo Classic has also had a busy month, winning a one-mile maiden race at Dubbo Racecourse on June 3, his only victory in seven starts.
