Australia: Streaking Wild Rocket can end trainer Kennedy's skid
Wild Rocket, the 4-year-old Australian-bred filly, returns to racing at Dubbo Racecourse on Monday at a good time for trainer Kylie Kennedy. Kennedy has not had a winner since Nov. 15, for a span of 31 losses through Jan. 23.
Wild Rocket starts in a six-furlong handicap, in an attempt to extend a winning streak to four races. Last July and August, Wild Rocket won a maiden race at a mile at Dubbo on July 17, a handicap at seven furlongs at Forbes Racecourse on Aug. 3, and a handicap at Dubbo on Aug. 9.
In each race, Wild Rocket closed from well off the pace to reach the front with time to spare. She won on Aug. 9 by 3 1/2 lengths.

In Monday’s race, Wild Rocket will be ridden by Mathew Cahill, who was aboard for the wins in July and August. Wild Rocket has eight rivals in the handicap, the fifth race on a seven-race program that begins at 10:05 p.m. Eastern, or 7:05 p.m. Pacific, on Sunday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
Herzegovina and Any Blinkin’ Day are part of Monday's race and have fair recent form.
Herzegovina was third in a five-furlong handicap at Muswellbrook Racecourse on Jan. 18 in his first start since September. A 5-year-old gelding, Herzegovina has won 4 of 28 starts, but is winless in 18 races since July 2019.
Any Blinkin’ Day, trained by Clint Lundholm, won a seven-furlong handicap at Dubbo in July, but has not raced since a 10th-place finish in a seven-furlong handicap at Mudgee Racecourse on Aug. 30.
Any Blinkin’ Day, a 9-year-old gelding, has won 10 of 65 starts and 8 of 24 appearances at Dubbo, where Lundholm is based.
