Since April 1, the Australian gelding He’s A Copy Boy has amassed a three-race winning streak that includes a maiden race and two minor handicaps. He’s A Copy Boy has won at distances ranging from seven furlongs to 1 1/16 miles, gradually moving higher through Australia’s ratings system. He’s A Copy Boy will be tested against a slightly tougher field than his last few races when he starts in the minor Wingham Cup at a mile at Taree Racecourse on Monday. The venue will work for He’s A Copy Boy, who is trained by Taree-based Ross Stitt. He’s A Copy Boy, a winner of 2 of 6 career starts at Taree, drew the outside post of 12 in the Wingham Cup. The post should not be an issue for a gelding who races from well off the pace. :: Get free past performances, analysis, and picks for Australian racing He’s A Copy Boy may go favored – he was the 4-1 choice in early betting on Sunday – but there will be good support for Kapsali and Mikado. The Wingham Cup is part of a seven-horse field that begins at 10:30 p.m. Eastern, or 7:30 p.m. Pacific. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com. Kapsali, a winner of 5 of 16 starts, has had diverse results in his last two races. He won a one-mile handicap at Coffs Harbour on March 20, but was last of 11 in a lucrative handicap at 1 1/4 miles at Doomben Racecourse on April 8. The Doomben race was outside of his best trip. Kapsali, who runs from off the pace, has won at a mile three times in his career. Mikado has won two one-mile races in his career, and is in sharp form. A winner of 7 of 28 starts, Mikado won the Beef Week Cup at seven furlongs at Lismore Racecourse on May 26, closing from sixth of 14 to win by a nose for his second win in four starts this year. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
