Australia: Rich and Shameless continues busy schedule in Moree Cup
Rich and Shameless, a 5-year-old gelding, has had an active October, already finishing seventh, second and fifth in cup races at smaller venues in Australia.
There is time for one more start in a similar race in the Moree Cup at Moree Racecourse on Friday.
The seven-furlong Moree Cup is similar to recent starts by Rich and Shameless in that the race is run as a handicap and has drawn a competitive field. Trained by Scott Singleton, Rich and Shameless was fifth by 2 1/4 lengths in the Coonabarabran Cup at a mile only on Sunday.
Rich and Shameless had had quick turnaround twice in his 26-race career. He finished second in a handicap at Scone in June 2020 and was 10th against a tougher field at Rosehill Gardens five days later. In March, Rich and Shameless was second in a sprint handicap at Scone and returned seven days later to win a sprint handicap at Tamworth.

Billy Cray rides Rich and Shameless for the first time since January in the Moree Cup. Cray is likely to have Rich and Shameless near the front in a field of 14.
Moree has an eight-race program beginning at 10:04 p.m. Eastern or 7:04 p.m. Pacific on Thursday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
Rich and Shameless is likely to be the second choice behind Camp Rifle, a 5-year-old gelding who has been second in his last two starts, in a handicap at 6 3/4 furlongs at Wyong on Sept. 30 and in a seven-furlong race at Coonamble on Oct. 10. Camp Rifle may have a strategic advantage as a stalker.
The 9-year-old mare Mysticism, who has won 7 of 40 starts, was fourth in the Moree Cup in 2019 and last year, and has a sneaky chance to play a meaningful role in this field. Mysticism has not raced since January, but has won following a layoff twice in her career.
