Australia: Newcomers Edit, Visinari each rates strong chance at Tamworth
Visinari has not raced since last November when he finished last of 10 in a handicap on the synthetic track at Chemlsford City Racecourse near London, a far cry from his third-place finish in the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket in the summer of 2019.
Edit has not raced since he finished fourth of 15 as the 2-1 favorite in an allowance race in New Zealand last December.
Despite the layoffs, Edit and Visinari rate leading chances in a six-furlong handicap at Tamworth Racecourse in Australia on Monday, the first start in that country for both runners.
The have one additional thing in common – both have been gelded since their last races.

Edit and Visinari are part of a field of 12 in the sixth race on a seven-race program that begins at 11:45 p.m., Eastern, or 8:45 p.m., Pacific, on Sunday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
Edit and the highly promising 6-year-old My Benalla were 5-2 in early betting on Saturday. My Benalla has won 4 of 5 starts, but the races have been spread over considerable time. My Benalla won his debut in a maiden race at Tamworth in June 2019.
A closer, My Benalla has had one start this year, winning a five-furlong handicap at Scone Racecourse on Sept. 7 in his first start since a win in a handicap at about 6 1/2 furlongs at Muswellbrook in January 2020. My Benalla closed from the back of the field to win by three-quarters of a length.
Those three may be in pursuit of Cassy’s Sister, a 5-year-old mare who was beaten a head in a handicap at 5 1/2 furlongs at Wyong Racecourse on Tuesday. Cassy’s Sister set the pace in that race just a few days ago and has every chance to play a meaningful role in this race from a forward position.
