Australia: Miss Arizona, Oblivion, Paradise Island look to extend win streaks
They are 4-year-olds. They each won their last starts in recent months. And they have similar tracking styles.
Miss Arizona, Oblivion, and Paradise Island lead a five-furlong handicap at Taree Racecourse in Australia on Monday across American time zones.
Each can win and extend a winning streak provided they can overcome tough post positions.
Paradise Island, who has won her last two starts, drew the rail, while Miss Arizona and Oblivion have the outside two posts. Races at five furlongs at Taree begin from a chute that briefly connects to the backstretch before a sweeping right-handed turn into a homestretch of approximately 380 yards, or less than a quarter-mile.

Jockey Dylan Gibbons on Paradise Island will need to avoid traffic issues from the inside, while Winona Costin on Miss Arizona and Raymond Spokes on Oblivion must prevent wide trips.
Paradise Island was a slight favorite at 5-2 in early betting on Sunday ahead of Miss Arizona at 3-1, Jet Pack at 6-1 and Oblivion at 8-1.
Jet Pack has not raced since March and is winless in four starts since November. Jet Pack raced against tougher rivals earlier this year, and can do well in his comeback if one of the recent winners falter. Jet Pack, who typically races as a stalker, has drawn post 8.
Miss Arizona has won two of her last three starts, while Paradise Island’s winning streak beat maidens last December and won her lone start of 2022 at Coffs Harbour in June.
Of the two, Miss Arizona may have the slight edge, having won at Taree on Aug. 26 when she closed from fourth of nine to prevail by slightly more than a half-length.
Paradise Island was fifth last November in her only previous start at Taree.
Oblivion starts on the strength of a win in a six-furlong handicap by slightly more than a length at Port Macquarie on Aug. 12. This is a slight jump in class from that race.
Taree has a seven-race program, beginning at 11:25 p.m. Eastern or 8:25 p.m. Pacific. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
