Australia: Lightly raced 3-year-olds meet on Thursday at Wyong
Little is likely to separate the Australian 3-year-olds Cream Rises and Sirens in the betting of a six-furlong handicap at Wyong Racecourse on Thursday.
A case can be easily made that each can win for the second time in his career.
Cream Rises, trained by Kylie Gavenlock, won his debut in a maiden race at 5 1/2 furlongs at Gosford Racecourse on April 21. Breaking from the rail in a field of nine, Cream Rises closed from fourth to take the lead in the final furlong and win by 4 3/4 lengths.

Cream Rises is the 2-1 favorite in early betting on Tuesday. He is out of the four-time stakes winner More Strawberries, who was third in the Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes for 2-year-olds in 2010.
Sirens, who was also 2-1, has one win in three starts. Sirens was third in a maiden race at Hawkesbury Racecourse last October in his lone start of 2020. Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, the colt won a maiden race at 5 1/2 furlongs at Gosford on April 1, and was third by 1 3/4 lengths after racing from a stalking position in a six-furlong handicap at Kembla Grange on April 17.
O’mudgee, the winner of that race, returned to finish second in a handicap eight days later.
From a pace scenario, Sirens is likely to race closer to the front and may have a slight edge on Cream Rises, who has a strong turn of foot. Sirens won his maiden race on soft turf, conditions expected at Wyong. Cream Rises won on good ground.
They are part of a field of nine that includes the stalker War General, a maiden race winner at six furlongs at Ballarat Racecourse on April 11.
Wyong has a seven-race program that begins at 10:55 p.m., Eastern, or 7:55 p.m., Pacific, on Wednesday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
