Australia: Left Reeling favored in Sunday handicap at Warwick
The 4-year-old filly Left Reeling has been held in high regard in Australia since her career began in early April 2021.
Though winless in six starts in 2021, Left Reeling was favored in five of those races. This year, she has been favored in all three of her starts, and is starting to pay back bettors.
A winner of her last two starts, Left Reeling will be favored again when she starts in the longest race of her career in a handicap at 1 3/8 miles at Warwick Farm in Sydney on Sunday evening across American time zones.
Trained by John Sargent, Left Reeling won a handicap at a mile at Scone against winners for her first career victory on Aug. 23, and followed with a win at about 1 1/8 miles at Newcastle on Sept. 16.

At Warwick Farm, Left Reeling was the 9-5 favorite in early betting as of Saturday, a slight choice over Inuwashi, a two-time winner who is also starting at 1 3/8 miles for the first time.
Left Reeling tends to run near the front and will be ridden for the first time by William Pike. James McDonald rode Left Reeling at Newcastle, but has the mount on Inuwashi for trainer Chris Waller. McDonald and Waller are one of the most successful jockey-trainer combinations in Australia.
Inuwashi, an Irish-bred 5-year-old gelding, has run nine times, winning at a mile and at 1 3/16 miles. Inuwashi, a closer, was fourth by 6 1/4 lengths in a handicap at 1 3/16 miles at Canterbury Park, closing from eighth of 10.
Left Reeling and Inuwashi are part of a field of nine on an eight-race Warwick Farm program that begins at 10:25 p.m. Eastern or 7:25 p.m. Pacific. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
