Australia: Lasting Kiss seeks to extend win streak at Lismore Racecourse
With wins in half of her six starts, the Australian filly Lasting Kiss is off to a fine start in her career.
A 4-year-old, Lasting Kiss has won her last two starts, both in sprints in July, and has an excellent chance to extend that streak in a handicap at 5 1/2 furlongs at Lismore Racecourse on Monday.
Trained by Stephen Lee, Lasting Kiss is part of a field of nine. She will have a prominent role as an expected favorite and as a filly who tends to run near the front.
In her last start at Doomben Racecourse on July 28, Lasting Kiss closed from third to win by a nose. Fifteen Rounds, who finished third in that field, returned to finish second and first in two handicaps in August.
Lasting Kiss will be ridden for the first time by Jon Grisedale, the filly’s fourth different rider in as many starts. Grisedale won with 7 of 50 mounts from July 16 through Friday.
Lasting Kiss could be joined near the front by Potent View, who has won 2 of 9 starts. Trained by Kris Lees, Potent View was third as the 8-5 favorite, beaten 1 1/2 lengths, in a handicap at 4 1/2 furlongs at Gold Coast Racecourse on July 24.

Potent View has yet to win beyond five furlongs. A 4-year-old gelding, Potent View won a handicap at five furlongs at Sunshine Coast in June.
Rose Bouquet, a 4-year-old filly, makes a rapid turnaround after finishing third in a handicap at slightly less than six furlongs at Grafton Racecourse on Aug. 16. She was eighth early and closed with interest to finish about 3 1/2 lengths behind favored Tara Jasmine. A fast pace would greatly aid Rose Bouquet, who has won 2 of 8 starts.
Lismore has a seven-race program that begins at 11:10 p.m. Eastern, or 8:10 p.m. Pacific, on Sunday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
