Australia: Fioprospero narrow favorite in Kembla Grange handicap
Fresh from a win in a maiden race on Nov. 21, Fioprospero will race against a modest field of winners in a one-mile handicap at Kembla Grange Racecourse in Australia on Wednesday evening.
A 3-year-old gelding, Fioprospero railed from ninth in a field of 10 to win a one-mile race at Newcastle last month in his first start since a fifth-place finish in a sprint in mid-July. The race at Newcastle was Fioprospero’s first start at a mile.
At Kembla Grange, Fioprospero is expected to be a slight favorite in a field of nine in the second of seven races. The program begins at 9:40 p.m. Eastern or 6:40 p.m. Pacific. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
Fioprospero is the only runner in the field with a last-race win.

The 4-year-old gelding Guzumped returns to racing at Kembla Grange after finishing 11th of 13 in his last start, a handicap at 1 7/16 miles at Newcastle in July. Guzumped can handle a distance, having finished second in consecutive starts at 1 5/16 miles in June and July, but seems better at a mile.
Guzumped won a one-mile maiden race at Kembla Grange in May, his only victory in six starts. Guzumped tends to run as a stalker.
The 3-year-old filly Brave Agenda is likely to set the pace, a style that led to a maiden race win at seven furlongs at Kembla Grange on Nov. 7 in her eighth start.
Brave Agenda subsequently finished third by slightly more than 1 1/2 lengths in a one-mile handicap at Kembla Grange on Nov. 18, and fourth by four lengths in a handicap at 7 3/4 furlongs at Canterbury Park just six days later.
A gap of more than two weeks since that her most recent start may benefit Brave Agenda.
