Australia: Fine Example tries to win third straight this month
The Australian filly Fine Example can complete a perfect October when she attempts to win a third consecutive start in a handicap at 1 5/16 miles at Gosford Racecourse on Wednesday evening.
Fine Example has already won twice this month, a handicap at about 1 5/16 miles at Goulburn on Oct. 3, and a handicap at 1 1/4 miles against a slightly tougher class of runners at Coffs Harbour 10 days later.
At Gosford, Fine Example is part of a field of eight in the first of eight races on a program that begins at 10:15 p.m. Eastern or 7:15 p.m. Pacific. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.

A 4-year-old filly, Fine Example has won 3 of 12 starts. In the two recent wins, Fine Example closed from well off the pace to win by two lengths and by a head. Jay Ford was aboard for the win at Goulburn and has the mount at Gosford.
Fine Example’s recent wins leave her among the leading prospects along with two other recent winners – Vadamos Queen, who is expected to be a slight favorite, and Viadelamore, an Irish-bred gelding.
Vadamos Queen, a New Zealand-bred 4-year-old filly, led throughout a handicap at 1 1/4 miles at Canberra on Oct. 6, her first win in her fourth career start in Australia. A winner in New Zealand last October, Vadamos Queen has won 2 of 6 starts.
Viadelamore, who began his career in Britain, won for the first time in his 13th start in Australia in a handicap at 1 1/4 miles at Murwillumbah Racecourse on Oct. 10. Viadelamore closed from eighth of 12 to win by a head.
Aside from Vadamos Queen, who does not seem reliant on setting the pace, the outsider Forum One is capable of leading.
