So far, Australian racing has not been as kind.

The marathon turf distance is a good fit for Feel the Rush, who will be favored to have a breakthrough win in Australia in a handicap at 1 1/2 miles at Warwick Farm Racecourse on Wednesday. As of Monday, Feel the Rush was the 4-1 favorite in early betting. She will be a single-digit price for the first time in Australia, a reflection of how well the 4-year-old filly fits the conditions at Warwick Farm.
The race drew a field of 12, with no last race winners, but several runners with recent distance experience.
Post time for the seven-race program at Warwick Farm is 10:50 p.m., Eastern, or 7:50 p.m., Pacific, on Tuesday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
Brown Thomas, a 5-year-old gelding, won a handicap at 1 5/16 miles at Orange Racecourse on April 16, but was last of 10 in a handicap at 1 1/8 miles at Hawkesbury Racecourse on May 1. Brown Thomas will race at 1 1/2 miles for the first time at Warwick Farm.
This is the third start at 1 1/2 miles for the 4-year-old British-bred gelding Sound of Cannons, who is winless in four starts in Australia at shorter distances. Sound of Cannons was eighth in a handicap at 1 3/16 miles at Canterbury Park on April 21, and was fifth of six in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at 1 1/2 miles at Royal Ascot in England last June toward the end of his career in that country.
A repeat of that performance would give Sound of Cannons an excellent chance to reverse his recent Australian form.
