Australia: The Enzo hopes to end skid in Tuesday handicap
The Enzo will have his 42nd career start in a seven-furlong handicap at Mildura Racecourse in Australia on Tuesday.
The small track in the state of Victoria is a relatively new venue for a veteran such as The Enzo, who has won four times in a career that began in 2017.
In a limited number of starts at Mildura, The Enzo has performed well. In April, The Enzo won a seven-furlong handicap at Mildura at the same class level as Tuesday’s race. The Enzo is winless in eight subsequent starts, including a neck loss when second in a seven-furlong handicap against a slightly higher class level in May at Mildura than what he will face in this field.
Trained by Nathan Hobson, The Enzo will be ridden by Jarrod Fry, who was aboard the gelding for a second-place finish in a seven-furlong handicap at Bendigo on Aug. 20. More recently, The Enzo was 11th at Swan Hill on Sept. 10 and third there on Sept. 27 in a one-mile race, losing by two lengths.

The Enzo is part of a field of 10 in the sixth race on an eight-race program that begins at 10:30 p.m. Eastern, or 7:30 p.m. Pacific, on Monday. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
The Enzo is likely to be the second choice behind Polina, a maiden race winner in January for the high-profile stables of trainer Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. Polina is winless in his last four starts, including a second by a nose in a seven-furlong handicap at Horsham Racecourse on Sept. 20.
Polina, a 4-year-old New Zealand-bred filly, tends to run near the front, and is likely to be in front of The Enzo through the first half of the race.
There will be support for Bannerton, a 4-year-old gelding trained by Austy Coffey, who had a winner at Swan Hill on Sept. 27.
Bannerton was 12 races into his career when he finally won a maiden race at 1 1/4 miles at Mildura Racecourse on Aug. 9 in his latest start.
