Trained by John O’Shea, Domingo will start in a more sensible race at Canterbury Park on Tuesday, a handicap at 1 3/16 miles.
Domingo’s wins in March are his only victories in a 10-race career. Domingo won at 1 1/4 miles and 1 5/16 miles, leaving the race at Canterbury within his distance range. He closed for second in a one-mile race in February.
Domingo should have a pace to follow at Canterbury thanks to the presence of expected favorite Storm King. A 4-year-old gelding, Storm King ended a five-race losing streak with a win in a handicap at 1 1/8 miles on the infield Kensington course at Randwick on April 25. Storm King led throughout to win by a short head, his fourth victory in his 16th start.
The Canterbury race drew a field of nine and is part of a seven-race program that begins at 10:45 p.m. Eastern or 7:45 p.m. Pacific. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com.
Storm King was 2-1 in early betting on Monday, while Domingo was 9-2.
Scarlet Prince and Sprout Wings each is capable of winning.
Scarlet Prince, a winner of 5 of 15 starts, was third in the Gundagai Cup at 1 1/16 miles at Gundagai Racecourse on April 16. He stalked the pace and lost by slightly more than two lengths.
The mare Sprout Wings returned from a layoff of more than seven months to win a one-mile handicap for fillies and mares at Warwick Farm on March 29.
Sprout Wings beat a lesser field than she will face on Tuesday in a handicap at Canterbury Park last May.
