Danetta has compiled a three-race winning streak in Australia with a flair for drama in the last two months. In each win, Danetta has closed from the middle of the field to take a late lead. She has never won by more than three-quarters of a length and won the second race in that span by only a nose. Danetta will attempt a fourth consecutive win when the 3-year-old filly starts favored in a handicap at 6 1/4 furlongs at Taree Racecourse on Tuesday. Danetta’s wins have come in a maiden race at 6 1/2 furlongs at Dubbo on May 21, a handicap at 6 1/2 furlongs at Hawkesbury on June 12, and a handicap at a distance slightly shorter than 6 1/2 furlongs at Muswellbrook on July 1. At Taree, Danetta will be ridden for the first time by apprentice jockey Jasper Franklin, which reduces the weight assignment from topweight of 134.4 pounds to 130 pounds, slightly less than topweight Pascal at 134.4 pounds. :: Get free past performances, analysis, and picks for Australian racing Danetta drew post 3, which could prove tricky. A five-furlong race at Taree begins from a chute on the backstretch and meets a sweeping final turn before a stretch run of approximately 360 yards. Danetta is trained by Damien Lane, who also starts the formidable gelding Impact Star, a winner of 2 of 12 starts. Impact Star is winless in five starts, but closed with interest with a wide rally to finish fourth in a handicap at 5 1/2 furlongs at Coonable Racecourse on June 19 in his second start of the year. Impact Star was second in his 2022 debut in a five-furlong handicap at Dubbo on June 3, closing well to miss by a neck. At Taree, Impact Star will start from post 8 and will be ridden by Aaron Bullock, who was aboard Danetta in her most recent win. Danetta and Impact Star are part of a full field of 12 in the sixth of seven races at Taree. The program begins at 10:50 p.m. Eastern, or 7:50 p.m. Pacific, on Monday.
